A workshop was set aside at last weekend's conference to announce exciting new fundraising ideas to boost the Party's coffers for election 2011. A hardworking fundraising team have organised some great projects and urged Party delegates to get behind them and to take them back to their Party organisations.
The Labour Party is looking to re-claim Labour Weekend with it's Labour Weekend Party initiative. Well known sisters Lois Daish and Ruth Mansell have put together some of their delicious recipes with the idea that Labour Party members will host get togethers of friends and family to celebrate the occasion of Labour Weekend, enjoy the great food and company and make a contribution Party funds at the same time. "Party" packs containing the recipes, invitations etc. were distributed at conference and delegates were keen to take part.
Another project is around Party members offering their holiday homes for auction to the highest bidder for a week at a time. A successful auction was held at the Conference social and "Red Hot Holidays" are looking for further offers of houses for this ongoing programme.
